Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Steven Spielberg drama, THE COLOR PURPLE (1985) starring Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah Winfrey. Based on Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, this emotionally packed film tells the story of a black Southern woman in the early 1900s who struggles to find her identity after suffering years of abuse from her father and other over forty years. The film, which was nominated for 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture, ended up winning none of them. But the movie was very popular with audiences and with most critics, and the performance of Whoopi Goldberg is remembered as one of her best. The design of the poster is lovely, and the example we have is rolled and in very fine plus condition.
