Original Warner Brothers Window Card (14x22). With Theater Snipe. Folded. Very Good.

Original Warner Brothers Window Card (14x22) for Elia Kazan's drama, BABY DOLL (1956) starring Karl Malden, Carroll Baker, Eli Wallach, and Mildred Dunnock. With a screenplay by Tennessee Williams, this film is the steamy tale of two cotton gin rivals in Mississippi in the 1950s and a sensuous 19-year-old virgin who has a penchant for sucking her thumb and sleeping in a crib. The Brothers Warner took a huge gamble on this outrageous and suggestive storyline, which Cardinal Spellman of New York denounced and Time Magazine called "possibly the dirtiest American-made motion picture that has ever been legally exhibited." The film was both a hit at the box office and with the movie critics. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Baker, Best Supporting Actress for Dunnock, Best Cinematography for Boris Kaufman, and Best Screenplay for Williams. It won the Golden Globe Best Picture award and was nominated for Golden Globes in four other categories. This poster is in very good condition. It has a snipe which was from The Melrose Theater. This snipe is easily removed by a competent poster conservator.
