Paramount Original Scene Lobby Card (11x14) Very Fine Condition

Original Paramount Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the classic horror film DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (1931) starring Fredric March as the literal personifications of good and evil, Dr. Henry Jekyll, a mild mannered London physician, and also Mr. Edward Hyde, a homicidal maniac. The crux of the story is that these two characters are the same individual. Jekyll, the earnest doctor has concocted a drug in his laboratory. Based on a famous novella "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" published in 1886 by Robert Louis Stevenson, the film tells the story of Jekyll, who, when he drinks the potion, morphs from the benign doctor he is into a monstrous sadist terrifying the streets of London. The story has been filmed several times, including once in 1920 starring John Barrymore, and later a famous version in 1941 starring Spencer Tracy. But it is Fredric March's performance in this early sound-era version that won him the Academy Award for Best Actor. There are three lobby cards in the set of eight cards that show March as the monster Hyde, and this is one of them. Very rare card indeed. The film was directed by Rouben Mamoulian and also stars Miriam Hopkins, Rose Hobart, Tom London, Murdock MacQuarrie and Holmes Herbert. Condition of the card is graded as very fine. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this lobby card is an original Paramount lobby card for this film. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
