Description

Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster (27x41) Folded Theater Used Very Good Plus to Fine Condition

Republic Pictures Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster for the Joseph Santley musical film EARL CARROLL VANITIES (1945). The poster features a glam illustration, in a forties fashion, of Constance Moore as a showgirl. The film stars Moore, Otto Kruger, Pinky Lee, Woody Herman and his Orchestra, Robert J. Wilke, Eve Arden, and Tommy Ivo. Earl Carroll was a Broadway producer of musical reviews, some a little bawdy. Moore plays Drina, a princess returning to the country of her birth, the good ol' USA, to find some money for her struggling country. That's a path for her to get mixed up in show business. The poster is interesting because it is a stone lithography, unusual for Republic in the 1940s. The poster was used in a theater and it is folded. It has a tiny fold separation in the intersection of the vertical and horizontal fold in one area. And a small chip out of the upper left border area. Otherwise quite nice. Colors are vivid. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees this poster to be an authentic U.S. one-sheet poster for this film. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
