New World Pictures Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster (27x41) Folded Very Fine Plus

Original U.S. Poster from New World Pictures for FITZCARRALDO (1982). A mad film starring a mad actor and directed by often-called-mad Werner Herzog. But if Herzog is mad, there is a method to it, for he has directed some exciting cinema over the decades. Fitzcarraldo is based loosely on the story of rubber baron Carlos Fitzcarrald, who transported a steamship (disassembled into various parts) over some mountains to reach the amazon basin. In Herzog's film the protagonist, rebranded Fitzcarraldo, purports to get the whole damn ship over the mountains. The film has a storied history, and the production was difficult. It is MAD. In the midst of all this madness is Claudia Cardinale. Music by the eighties art band Popul Vuh. One of the most interesting films of the 1980s. Our example of the poster is folded, and it is in very fine condition. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this poster is vintage, authentic, original.
