Knotts plays an aspiring newspaper reporter who gets his big break when his editor asks him to spend the night in a mansion that was the site of a famous murder-suicide twenty years before. The film inspired a short-lived craze of yelling out "Attaboy" in all kinds of situations and was based on a running gag used throughout the film.
