Columbia PIctures Original French Double Panel (62x94) Fine Condition Linen-Backed

Columbia Pictures Original French Double Panel (62x94) for the masterpiece film noir GILDA (1946). The film was directed by Charles Vidor, and it remains one of the most adored film noirs. The movie stars, in arguably her best role, Rita Hayworth as Gilda, a nightclub performer whose sultry routines are incendiary. The famous "put the blame on Mame" sequence is one of the most famous musical moments in all of film-noirdom! The movie also stars Glenn Ford, George Macready, Joseph Calleia, Rodolfo Hoyos, Jr., and Blackie Whiteford. This French poster with art by Boris Grinsson is one of the best posters on the movie worldwide. Gilda reclines in the foreground, smoking a cigarette. In the background we see her slapped by Glenn Ford, evidence of the tempestuous lust-story that animates the film. This poster is linen-backed and we have graded it in fine condition. The Grinsson art is carefully crafted in the stone lithography that is evident on many of the great French posters. A slight water stain can be seen in the lower left corner. The linen has been trimmed up to the poster's edge. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is an authentic French 62x94 poster for this film. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas does not sell reproductions.
