Description

Original MGM Half Sheet Poster (22x28). Style B. Very Good.

Original MGM Style B Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Richard Thorpe romantic drama, THE GIRL WHO HAD EVERYTHING (1953) starring Elizabeth Taylor, Fernando Lamas, William Powell, and Gig Young. Taylor plays the daughter of a tough trial lawyer (Powell) who falls in love with his gangster client (Lamas). A remake of the film A FREE SOUL (1931) starring Norma Shearer and Clark Gable, this film does not have the seediness of the original but certainly has all the unbridled sensuality of the first movie. Taylor gives a thoroughly convincing portrayal of the willful, headstrong daughter who grows from a spoiled, immature flirt into a strong, sobered woman. Powell had been with MGM since 1934, and this was his final film for the studio. This original half sheet poster is folded and in very good condition. There are no fold separations, but the reverse side has some tape and some border distress. The poster would look very nice paperbacked, but can be framed as is.
