Original MGM U.S. Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Gene Nelson directed music film HOOTENANNY HOOT (1963) starring Nick Navarro, Joby Baker, and Pam Austin. Nelson had a career in front of the camera, playing in many musicals, including OKLAHOMA! as a very good dancer and serviceable singer. But he also functioned as a director. 1963, was, arguably the height of the urban folk revival in the U.S. before the onslaught of sixties rock. Folk artists who appear in musical segments of the film include Columbia Recording Artists The Brothers Four, Sheb Wooley, Johnny Cash, The Gateway Trio, Judy Henske, George Hamilton IV, Joe and Eddie, Cathie Taylor and Chris Crosby. The whole things was cast as sort of another youthquake movie, not unlike a lot of rock films that would later emerge. Three sheet posters are large posters which are printed on two separate sheets. These two panels are joined to display as one poster. This poster was used in a theater and shows some signs of general wear.
