United Artists Original Six Sheet Poster (81x81) 9684 Fine Plus Condition

Original United Artists Six Sheet Poster for the Stanley Kramer film INHERIT THE WIND (1960). The film was based on a famous play by Jerome Robbins and Robert Edwin Lee. The film ostensibly fictionalizes the famous Scopes "monkey" trial in Tennessee. Spencer Tracy and Fredric March, two of the great icons of the Golden Age of Hollywood, play opposing lawyers in a fractious trial about the theory of evolution. A young teacher is hauled into court for teaching Darwin's theory. But while the play certainly operates on the level of courtroom drama, it also takes aim the McCarthy era of the early 1950s and the supression of ideas it represented. The film has been remade at least twice, but it is this 1960 version that is so well remembered. Six Sheet poster are very large. They are printed on four separate panels which are joined together to make one large poster, 81 inches by 81 inches. We have photographed the four panels separately and joined them together with photo software to give an idea of the overall image. The four panels are all of similar quality - average used - but our Photoshop skills are not the best. Know that the seeming mismatch of the four sections are not reflected on the poster. We have graded the poster in fine condition. MovieArt Austin guarantees this poster to be the authentic U.S. six sheet poster for this film. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
