MGM Original U.S. Three-Sheet Poster (41x81) in three sections Fine Plus Condition

Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Vincente Minnelli musical comedy, KISMET (1955) starring Howard Keel, Ann Blyth, Dolores Gray, and Vic Damone. This story is based on a play originally written by Edward Knobloch around 1910 and used by popular Broadway character actor Ottis Skinner for many years. Skinner even did a silent film version of the play. Later, the song writing team of Bob Wright and Chet Forrest composed a score based on the melodies of Alexander Borodin. The Broadway production opened at the Ziegfeld theater in New York City on December 3, 1953 and ran for 583 performances and won the 1954 Tony Award for Best Musical. Eventually the musical came to the attention of the Arthur Freed unit at MGM, and he chose Minnelli to direct this opulent production. This original three sheet poster is printed in three separate sections which are joined together to display as one large, oversized poster. Normally three sheets are printed on two separate panels, but for some reason this poster is printed on three. Condition is fine plus, with some very minor pinholes. Colors are good. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is the authentic U.S. three sheet poster. MovieArt Austin will sell no reprodutions.
