United Artists Original 40x60 Poster Rolled Theater-Used Average Condition

Original United Artists U.S. 40x60 poster for the Guy Hamilton action thriller, LIVE AND LET DIE (1973) starring Roger Moore, Yaphet Kotto, and Jane Seymour. The eighth film in the franchise, LIVE AND LET DIE is the first James Bond film to star Roger Moore (who played the secret agent in more films than any actor before or since). Still action-packed like the earlier films, Moore made his Bond more comical with a distinct sarcastic edge lacking in the other Bond actors. Also, the theme song by Paul McCartney was effective and unusual. Formulaically, LIVE AND LET DIE is a Bond film like any other, full of gadgets and femme fatales and quirky villains. Topically, the film is a bit different; instead of the inflated threat of world domination, Bond battles the drug scourge and the criminal infrastructure behind it. By today's standards, the portrayal of black characters in LIVE AND LET DIE is pretty tacky, but the film was released in the blacksploitation years and was very popular. After all, LIVE AND LET DIE features the beautiful Gloria Hendry as the first black Bond girl. With artwork by Robert McGinnis, this U.S. 40x60 poster must be regarded in average used condition. There is some damage in the border area at the bottom that is significant. We are pricing this accordingly. This poster could certainly be restored. 40x60's, it is fair to say, are scarcer than the smaller posters on this title. MovieArt does not sell reproductions.
