British Six Sheet. 80x90. Very Fine. Stone lithograph.

This early sound British-German collaboration is notable for several reasons. It marks a very early appearance of the notable British actor Maurice Evans, who would later gain American exposure in such films as ROSEMARY'S BABY and PLANET OF THE APES. It is also only the third film appearance of the well-known British actor Charles Hawtrey, known for his appearances in the famous "carry on" series of British comedies. Directed by German born Wilhelm Thiele, who is shown on the poster as William Thiele, the romantic musical comedy's female lead, Renate Muller, a shining star of German stage and screen, who died mysteriously at age 31 under the Nazi regime. This beautiful British six sheet is done in stone lithography and pictures Muller and her co-star in a wonderful older model car. British director Anthony Asquith wrote the screenplay. The poster has the most minimal fold wear and displays beautifully. Very Fine. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is an authentic British six sheet for this film. MovieArt Austin will sell no reproductions.
