At a budget of $300 million, this film was the most expensive film ever made at that time. This third film in the series, as well as the first sequel, had lost touch with its roots of the original and very popular film. The plots became so convoluted, it became increasingly difficult to remember the desires and motives of all of the now multiple characters.
