Original Paramount Pictures 1982 Re-Release One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Steven Spielberg adventure classic, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (1981) starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, and Paul Freeman. Based on a story by George Lucas, this homage to adventure comics of the 1930s has more energy than three action movies put together. Harrison Ford delivers a memorable performance as the renowned archeologist Dr. Indiana Jones, who is hired by the U.S. government to find the lost Ark of the Covenant, which is believed to carry an incredibly powerful energy, before the Nazis find it. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. It won five Oscars including a Special Achievement Award for sound effects editing. With artwork by RIchard Amsel, this original one sheet poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition. Although the poster is technically a re-release, in this case, the poster is almost regarded as concurrent with the original 1981 release.
