Original Belgian Poster (14x22) for the Howard Hawks and Arthur Rossen epic western, RED RIVER (1948) starring John Wayne, Montgomery Clift, and Joanne Dru. This is the story of Tom Dunson (Wayne) who builds a cattle empire with his adopted son Matthew (Clift). While on a massive cattle drive from Texas to Missouri, Matthew has a falling out with his father and tries to steal the herd away. This was certainly one of WayneÕs best cowboy performances, and the popular film became the third highest grossing film of 1948. The film also boasts a memorable score by Dimitri Tiomkin. This original Belgian poster is in fine condition. It's clear that the poster was used in a cinema because playdate area at the top of the poster has an announcement from CAPITOLE, a theater. There are some small pinholes and edge-wear and a minor tape stain on the edges. Nevertheless, the fundamentals of the poster are quite good.
