Original U.S. Scene Lobby Card (11x14) Very Good Theater Used Condition

Paramount / Publix Corp Original Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the film THE SILENT ENEMY (1930). An extremely scarce lobby card, we have seen two other cards like this one at auction in the past decades. The film was shot in Canada by H.P. Carver and aims to tell a story of life among an Ojibwe tribe of indigenous people in the post classical period. The tribe is experiencing famine and a power struggle between a Chief and a warrior. Recommended reading about the film appears in wikipedia under the heading THE SILENT ENEMY (1930 film). There are elements of sound in the film and there is tinting of certain sequences. Animals play an important role in the film, which was in production for over two years. This card shows the character Chetoga, portrayed by Chief Yellow Robe (1870 -1930) speaking with his young son Cheeka. The film was produced by Burden-Chanler Productions. It was picked up by Paramount and premiered at the Criterion Theater in New York City on May 19, 1930. The film went into general release in August of 1930, but was overshadowed by the emergence of sound film. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this lobby card is an original Paramount card for this film. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
