20th Century Fox One-Sheet Poster (27x41) Folded Very Good Plus to Fine Condition

The Texas State Fair was the locale of the third remake of this story. The film had been made twice before, once as a vehicle for Will Rogers and then transformed in 1945 into the only Rodgers and Hammerstein musical written especially for film. For the 1962 version Rodgers and Hammerstein added two new songs. The cast - Pat Boone, Ann-Margret, Pamela Tiffin and Bobby Darin represented the youth of the generation just before the Baby Boom Youthquake. They were ably supported by Tom Ewell and by Fox's iconic star of the thirties and forties, Alice Faye; the film was directed by an unlikely choice, Jose Ferrer. The movie was filmed in Dallas and Hollywood and featured scenes filmed at the Texas State Fair, including shots of the iconic "Big Tex", a large cowboy in the biggest pair of jeans in the world. The poster is clearly theater used, but is in very good plus to fine condition. The top border has a slightly "curled" edge. There are no fold separations. So, very good to fine, with vivid color and good paper integrity. MovieArt Austin guarantees this poster to be the authentic U.S. one-sheet for this film. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
