MGM Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster (27x41) Linen-Backed Very Fine Condition
MGM Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster (27x41) for the animation short subject TOM AND JERRY IN THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL. The film was released on September 16, 1950. It was also re-released in the U.S. in 1957, and for that release it was shown in some theaters in Perspecta Stereo. This poster dates from the first release. The film was directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Tom is attempting to conduct the orchestra and Jerry is attempting to be Jerry! While the musical cues were overseen by Scott Bradley, there were two selections for the concert. Music culled from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss and the Symphonic Poem No. 3 from Preludes by Franz Liszt were both used. This was one of the few times that Bradley used the entire MGM Orchestra for the music, since the subject warranted it. Clearly this film was one of the high points of the Tom and Jerry filmography. Happily, the poster for the cartoon is similarly stellar. It doesn't really get better than this! This poster is linen-backed and in very fine condition. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is an authentic U.S. one-sheet poster for this cartoon. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
