Original Columbia Pictures B Style Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Alexander Hall screwball comedy, MY SISTER EILEEN (1942) starring Rosalind Russell, Brian Aherne, and Janet Blair. Russell and Blair play two sisters who move from Ohio to New York in hopes of furthering their careers. Russell wants to be a writer, and Blair hopes to succeed on the stage. The two meet Aherne, who plays a magazine editor who takes a personal interest in helping both women with their career plans. The screenplay was adapted from a popular Broadway play that opened In December of 1942. Later the play was transformed into a musical, "Wonderful Town," with the music composed by Leonard Bernstein. Columbia Pictures turned the musical version into a remake of MY SISTER EILEEN (1955). This original half sheet poster is folded and in good condition only, with tape on the reverse side and some chipping.
