First National Pictures Original U.S. Title Lobby Card for the Marshall Neilan directed drama 3 RING MARRIAGE (1928.) The film stars the great Mary Astor and also Lloyd Hughes and Yola d'Avril. Astor plays the rebellious daughter of a wealthy rancher in love with Hughes, handsome but a bit of a rogue. Astor's Dad is not OK with this and the drama ensues. We did not know that there could be this much drama in a film with no sound. But this is a silent film, and after watching a few one learns that the silent cinema had something going for it - pictures.
