The film is about a group of boys, who are cabin mates at a Boys Camp in Arizona. The boys have trauma of one kind or another in their home life, and at camp they try to work it out. They're invited to a buffalo preserve where some of the animal are culled with rifles. The film follows each of the boys responses and feelings. Guns play a major part in the film, and Kramer faced severe criticism in the states for a perceived attack on hunting. An odd entry into the works of Stanley Kramer.
