Original Sigma Films Gelatin Silver Prints, five individual 8x10 photos, in very fine plus condition for the Jiri Menzel directed film CLOSELY WATCHED TRAINS (1966). The much honored film was voted the Best Foreign Language Film in 1967 at the Academy Awards. The movie, set during World War II in Czechoslovakia concerns a train dispatcher who observes the trains that are hauling people to their deaths. At the same time he is immersed in the paradox of falling in love and charming his pals. The film was directed by Jiri Menzel, and it was the first film that he made.
