20th Century Fox Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster for the Robert Elfstrom directed film THE GOSPEL ROAD (1973). The telling of the Gospel story was the creation largely of singing legend Johnny Cash. Many of Johnny's friends and relations were cast in the movie which dramatizes the life of Christ. Sometimes the movie has a distinct homemade look, but at other moments it is surprisingly good. June Carter Cash was cast as Mary Magdalene and she turns in an entirely credible performance. Johnny Cash is heard in some songs he composed for the movie and in narrative voice-overs. This poster was used in a theater and we have graded it in very fine condition.
