Magna Films Original U.S. Scene Lobby Card from Bill Sargent's film HARLOW (1965) starring Carol Lynley, Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., Barry Sullivan, Hurd Hatfield, Lloyd Bochner, Audrey Totter and with a special appearance by Ginger Rogers. 1965 was the culmination in the sixties-era interest in Jean Harlow, the original platinum blonde, who had a sensational career at MGM in the 1930s. Her career ended in 1937 with her untimely death. This movie was actually "filmed" on videotape, and released as a movie in the kinescope process known as Electronovision. Video quality was not very good, and the same process was used to record a performance of Hamlet in New York with Richard Burton as the Dane. But this HARLOW was to be dwarfed by Paramount's own Harlow movie, a massive widescreen color biopic starring Carroll Baker, fueled mostly by opulent sleaze. This film was not quite that. Carol Lynley had a distinguished career and was in well over 100 movies until she retired in 2006. She died in 2019. We purchased a collection of signed lobby cards from the estate of a gentleman who worked in film distribution. As this man met actors along the paths of their careers, he asked for signatures.
