Original 20th Century-Fox Deluxe Lobby Card Set for the Ronald Neame adventure thriller and perennial cult classic, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (1972) starring gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, and Shelley Winters. Eight individual cards. At midnight on New YearÕs Eve, the S.S. Poseidon is struck by a 90 ft. tidal wave and is capsized. It's HELL UPSIDE DOWN!! The Reverend Frank Scott (Gene Hackman) leads nine survivors through steam, fire, and rising water in the capsized ship to reach the bottom, now the top. This was the first big movie of the disaster film craze of the 1970s, but only a few were as well done or as popular as this movie. Winning the Academy Award for Best Song, it was also nominated in seven other categories, including Shelley Winters for Best Supporting Actress and Harold E. Stine for Best Cinematography.
