Original Universal Pictures 40x60 Poster for the Richard Bartlett teen comedy musical movie, ROCK, PRETTY BABY! (1956) starring Sal Mineo, John Saxon, Luana Patten, and Edward Platt. One of the first and best of the rock films of the 50s, the story deals with the typical troubles of growing up. Saxon plays a high school senior who wants to be a musician, much to the consternation of his father (Edward Platt) who is a physician, married to Beth Daley, who is played by the great Fay Wray (sans Kong!) He saves up enough money to buy a guitar and join MineoÕs band. Look for sixties poet-singer Rod McKuen and Donna Reed's TV daughter, Shelley Fabares. The whole movie runs 89 minutes, short and sweet, with a score by none other than Henry Mancini. This original 40x60 poster is rolled but in good condition onlyÑwith some tears and significant evidence of use. This poster is a perfect candidate for restoration and linen-backing.
