With lots of action and laughs, this film chronicles two truck drivers (Reynolds and Reed) who are transporting a truckload of beer across Texas and then unwittingly pick up a hitchhiking bride-to-be (Field) who just left her groom at the altar. Making great use of the culture of CB radio, which was a huge craze at the time, the film became the second highest grossing film in 1977 after STAR WARS. The film also made the Pontiac Trans AM a superstar with sales exploding after the film was released.
