Original Rank Production Italian Four Foglio Poster (79x55) for the Terence Young directed film VALLEY OF EAGLES (1951.) The film John McCallum, Nadia Gray, Jack Warner, Anthony Dawson and look for an early appearance by Christopher Lee. The movie is a curious occurence in the trajectory of Terence Young's illustrious career. After all, he would go on to direct DR. NO (1962), FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963) and THUNDERBALL (1965). This movie is part adventure, part spy movie, and part travelogue, all set in Scandanavia. The plot is all over the place, but the wolves and eagles that you see in the poster are important to the film, and in the original cut there is a hunting sequence between two which was so bloody that the British censors cut it from the movie. But not this Italian four-foglio. The art by Anselmo Ballester almost frames the movie as a horror film. The poster is large, and the condition we have graded as very good plus.
