Description
Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27x41). Folded. Fine Plus.
Original MGM One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the George Sidney musical western, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (1950) starring Betty Hutton and Howard Keel. This is the story of famed sharpshooter Annie Oakley and rival sharpshooter Frank Butler. The original Broadway musical starring Ethel Merman with lyrics and music by Irving Berlin opened on Broadway on May 16, 1946 and ran for 1,147 performances. Judy Garland was originally slated to play the lead but was discharged for "health problems" and replaced by Hutton, who later related that she was miserable during the filming because nobody much liked her at MGM, resented that she had replaced Garland, and treated her rather shabbiliy (she was on loan from Paramount). But Hutton's portrayal of Annie has lots of personality, charm, and humor. And her musical performance was nothing short of great. This original three sheet poster is folded and in fine plus condition, with some minor fold separations and discoloration. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this is the original one-sheet poster for this film. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
