Columbia Pictures Original Six Sheet Poster (81x81) Folded Average Used Fair to Good Condition
Original Columbia Pictures Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the Fred Zinnemann film BEHOLD A PALE HORSE (1964) starring Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn and Omar Sharif. The film was based on a novel by the English filmmaker Emeric Pressburger. The novel concerns a Spanish anarchist, based on the life details of Francesc Sabate Liopart. The story is a story of revenge which takes 20 years after the end of the Spanish Civil War. In this film the ghosts of wartime murders comes back into the life of two antagonists and a young boy named Paco. This great cast wrestles with a story that audiences in the U.S. did not respond to, and Columbia lost money on the film. Zinnemann called it one of his failures, but allowed that he learned a lot from his failures. The film features a score by Maurice Jarre. This six sheet is in average used condition, in fact is somewhat worn. But in this format the poster has eluded collectors. The art is by Howard Terpning and is different from other posters on the title. We think it worthwhile to offer to collectors. We have photographed the four separate panels that make up the large format poster. Our photoshop skills are not necessarily the best, but we think you can get an idea of the poster. Priced appropriately, it can honestly be said that this poster - in this format - is rare.
