Paramount Pictures Original Italian special size poster for the George Marshall directed film noir THE BLUE DAHLIA (1946). The film was not released in Italy until 1947 and we presume that this poster is from that release date. The poster shows one of noir's great romantic pairings, Ladd and Lake. The poster is graded in very good plus condition because of some minor pinholes in the border, very minor surface damage to a several places on the poster. All of this is certainly within the range of what can be restored easily. This atmospheric lithograph of a photo of the two stars, lit from below creates a sinister, lit-from-below view. Very rare. Please note that there is a handwritten note in the right border area which indicates a date, 2.4.51. We don't know what this means exactly but probably indicates a local playdate for the film somewhere in Italy.
