Original U.S. Lobby card set for the Hal Ashby film BOUND FOR GLORY (1976) starring David Carradine, Melinda Dillon, Ronny Cox and Randy Quaid. The film is a partial biography of American folk music icon Woody Guthrie. It tells Guthries story of intenerant wandering and initial fame from radio during the late 1930s and 1940s. David Carradine is quite plausible as the young Guthrie and Ashby directs the film reverently. One of the best things about the movie, other than the covering of many of Woody's songs is the lush Panavision cinematography by the genius Haskell Wexler. Wexler seems to find the truth in Guthrie's lyrics and translates them into breathtaking vistas as well as gritty portraits of the dustbowl. This lobby card set is in very fine plus condition. An excellent example lobby card set for this movie.
