Based on the biting novella by Truman Capote, Hepburn plays an offbeat and sophisticated party girl floating around New York in Givenchy black dress and subsisting on the favors of various rich men. She meets and eventually falls in love with writer Peppard who moves in upstairs and is being "kept" by married socialite Neal. Hepburn is graceful and glamorous but also belies a vulnerability that captures the hearts of the audience. The popular film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Hepburn, Best Art Direction, and Best Screenplay. Henry Mancini won the Academy Award for Best Music and Johnny Mercer won for Best Song, the enchanting classic "Moon River." This poster was used in a theater.
