Broadway Thru A Keyhole (1933) Original Movie Poster

United Artists Original U.S 8x10 Gelatin Silver Prints, six in number, for the Lowell Sherman directed pre-code film BROADWAY THRU A KEYHOLE (1933). The film stars Constance Cummings, Russ Columbo, Paul Kelly, Blossom Seeley, Gregory Ratoff, Texas Guinan, Eddie Foy, Jr., Hugh O'Connell and Hobart Cavanaugh. These photographs are quite interesting for a number of reason, but in my view, the close-up portrait of Texas Guinan alone is enough the justify the cost. Guinan was a Texas ex-pat who came to New York, made a huge name for herself, and became its famous "Queen of the Nightclubs." Very, very rare. Another incredible photo: a portrait of Russ Columbo, who appears to be looking through the very keyhole in the title. Columbo was a very fine singer, seriously handsome, and as talented as his rival Bing Crosby. He died at the age of 26, in a freak firearms accident. His records have been reissued many times. Also included are glamorous photos of Constance Cummings and Blossom Seeley. The film was associated with gossip and news pundit Walter Winchell, and it was produced by Darryl F. Zanuck. Condition varies slightly from photo to photo, but overall is quite good. A great find.
