Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Milton Katselas romantic comedy, BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE (1972) starring Goldie Hawn, Edward Albert, and Eileen Heckart. Set in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco in the early 1970s, a blind man (Albert) moves into his own apartment against the wishes of his overprotective mother (Heckart) and befriends the freethinking young woman next door (Hawn). Adapted from a Broadway play written by Leonard Gershe, the original play opened at the Booth Theater on October 21, 1969 and ran for 1128 performances. Eileen Heckart reprised her role as the overprotective mother for which she had received a Tony nomination in 1970 and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her film performance. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition. It does have some minor pinholes in the corners but no fold separations. .
