Tandy and Cronyn and Gilford were in much sillier films than Cocoon in their long careers, and they absolutely shine as senior home delinquents out to sap energy from a dormant alien life form. Tandy was in a similar film to Cocoon, Batteries not Included, which not even she could rescue.
