Very well received when it was released, the film gave a lift to the tons of Bruce Lee fans worldwide. Brandon Lee was a very good screen presence, with an apparent blossoming career in front of him. Lee had appeared in film and tv prior to this, but THE CROW was going to be a larger role. Tragically, Brandon was killed by a prop gun on the set of the movie. All his scenes had been shot, however, and the release of the movie could not help but underscore the sad fact, that both Brandon and his father, the legendary Bruce Lee had died before their breakout films were released.
