Description
Original Pennebaker Films British Double Crown Poster (20x30). Rolled. Very Fine.
Original Pennebaker Films British Double Crown Poster (20x30), unfolded, for the cinema verite documentary about Bob Dylan's 1965 tour of England. This is the 1967 poster, not one of the subsequent re-releases of the film in Britain. Concert moments and life-on-tour moments are recorded by documentarian D.A. Pennebaker. Documentary film was revolutionized by Pennebaker (and others) who were determined to find a way to record a subject as unobtrusively as possible. This, of course, is never completely possible, but lighter cameras and portable sound recorders made the task much easier. Dylan arrives in England and is already a sensation, with sold-out audiences ready to hang on his every phrase. An entourage including his then manager Albert Grossman and musicians Joan Baez and Bob Neuwirth arrives with Dylan. Dylan is intgerviewed by the press, writes songs in his hotel room, rides in limousines, meets Donovan, and hangs out with musician Alan Price. The portrait is fascinating and sometimes repellant. A priceless look into the past of a great artist. The British 20X30 features art by Alan Auldridge and is quite different from any other poster for the film. This copy is unfolded and is in very fine condition. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is the authentic British double-crown (30x40) poster for this film. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
