Valiant Films Original Three-Sheet Poster for the Paul Landres directed teen / music movie GO, JOHNNY, GO! Really almost a concert film, the movie was put together by the DJ genius Allan Freed. There are appearances by Chuck Berry, Ritchie Valens, Eddie Cochran, Jackie Wilson, The Cadillacs, The Flamingoes, Jimmy Clanton, Jo Ann Campbell and Sandy Stewart. Sixty odd years later, some of the names are obscure and some are not. Freed was right there at the beginning of the mass marketing of rock and roll music. The temptations were great, and he got into trouble on a payola scandal, bribing record jockey to play records he was promoting. The clips from this film have become noteworthy as some of the only visual records of some of these artists. The poster is rare in the size. We know of only two instances where the poster in this oversized format has appeared at auction. Condition is fine plus to very fine, folded. Three sheets are oversized posters which are generally printed on two separate panels which are joined together to present as one poster.
