Description
Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster (27x41) Folded and in Fine Plus to Very Fine Condition
Paramount Pictures Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster, folded and in fine plus to very fine condition, for the wartime nautical musical film HERE COME THE WAVES (1944). The film stars Bing Crosby, Betty Hutton, Sonny Tufts, William Haade, Ann Doran and Jean Willes. The director is Mark Sandrich. He had been in this territory before with the Astaire / Rogers masterpiece FOLLOW THE FLEET (1936). There's some good hoofing here, and some romance and Crosby, the biggest star at Paramount at the time. It was in this film that Crosby introduced the song AC-CEN-TU-ATE THE POSITIVE, written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. It was nominated for an Academy Award but lost when the awards were given out in 1945 to Rodgers and Hammerstein for "It Might As Well Be Spring." Betty Hutton was hot also at Paramount, and here she is in her high-spirited best. This poster was used in a theater, but has survived in nice condition with only some pinholes in the corners. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this poster is authentic. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
