Universal Pictures Original U.S. Poster for the Arthur Rosson directed western film HIDDEN GOLD (1932) starring Tom Mix. And Tony, his pony. The film also featured Judith Barrie, Raymond Hatton and Eddie Gribbon. Tom Mix plays Tom Marley, his name not too far afield from his character's name, insuring that Tom will act both as his character and as himself. He works on a ranch, gets sent to prison undercover to foil some bad guys, the bad guys escape prison and Tom has to escape with them to keep his cover. All in the interest of recovering some stolen money belonging to the beautiful rancher Nora Lane (Barrie). No spoilers here. You'll have to watch this ninety year old oater to find out if everyone lives happily ever after. You however will be happy if you have Tom Mix hanging on your wall. Carl Lammle persuaded Tom Mix to come out of retirement and make nine feature films for the studio. These Universal one-sheets are much scarcer than the earlier posters for the Fox movies.
