Original 20th Century-Fox Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Fred Zinnemann drama, JULIA (1977) starring Jane Fonda, Vanessa Redgrave, Jason Robards, and Maximilian Schell. Based on the memoirs of American playwright Lillian Hellman (Fonda), this film chronicles a period in the 1930s when her lifelong friend Julia (Redgrave) enlists her help to smuggle money through Nazi Germany to the resistance. Beautifully photographed with exceptional acting performances all around, the film totally succeeds in capturing the texture of Europe on the brink of cataclysm. The film was nominated for eleven Academy AwardsÑincluding Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Fonda, and Best Supporting Actor for Schell. The film won three Oscars: Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress to Redgrave, and Best Supporting Actor to Robards.
