Columbia Pictures Original U.S. Lobby Cards for the Phil Karlson directed B-picture musical, LADIES OF THE CHORUS (1948). The film stars Adele Jergens, Rand Brooks, Eddie Garr and a budding young player named Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn probably thought that this film was her big break, but she would slip into lesser roles for several studios before she would really rise to superstardom in the decade of the 1950s. We are very pleased to offer this complete set of lobbies from this film. None of the major auction houses, to the best of our knowledge, have ever offered a complete set of cards for this film. To add to the luster of this set, the condition of the cards is truly exemplary. The chorus line card alone is a highly prized Marilyn Monroe card. Please note that this set is from the original year of issue, 1948, not the re-release of 1952. Incidentally, we have identified the actress with Marilyn in the "catfight" card as Marjorie Hoshelle.
