Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the David Cronenberg romantic drama, M. BUTTERFLY (1993) starring Jeremy Irons, John Lone, and Barbara Sukowa. Irons plays a French diplomat who falls in love with a Chinese opera singer, who turns out to be a man pretending to be a woman. Based on a true story that stunned the world, the transvestite singer is really an undercover agent of the Chinese government. This haunting and beautiful film was based on a play by David Henry Hwang that won the 1988 Tony for Best Play. The film is also interwoven with allusions to the Puccini opera "Madama Butterfly." This original double-sided one sheet poster is unfolded and in very fine condition.
