20th Century Fox Original U.S. Six-Sheet Poster (81x81) for the Robert D. Webb directed film ON THE THRESHOLD OF SPACE (1956). The film stars Guy Madison, Virginia Leith, John Hodiak and Dean Jagger. 1956 being at the apogee of the classic sci-fi film era, one might think that this movie is sci-fi. It isn't. The film explores advances in aerospace and aero-medical in the U.S. Air Foce at the time. There is a drama here, but there is also plenty of what could only be called documentary footage of test pilots and airplane and equipment tests. This was the last film of John Hodiak, who died a short time before the movie was released. This poster was used in a theater, and we have graded it to be in fine plus condition. There are a few minor defects, but overall the poster is in quite nice condition. Every panel matches up well, although our photograph shows that the upper right panel is slightly off. That's on us.
