Tony Curtis was already a major star when he made TARAS BULBA with the German starlet Kaufmann. Soon, at age 18, she was Curtis' second wife. BULBA was followed immediately with this poodle-dominated comedy. Christine Kaufmann was divorced from Tony Curtis in 1968, and went on to a distinguished career, appearing in films of Fassbender and German directed Helmut Dietl.
