Description

Original United Artists Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Billy Wilder fast and funny cold-war comedy, ONE, TWO, THREE (1961) starring James Cagney, Horst Buchholz, Pamela Tiffin, and Arlene Francis. Cagney's character runs the German branch of Coca-Cola in Berlin. He realizes that he may be fired if he can't keep his American boss's daughter (Tiffin) from marrying a raging communist (Buchholz). Even though the Berlin Wall began construction during production, Wilder nevertheless had a ball reducing the Cold War to its basic absurdities. This was James Cagney's last major role in his long and illustrious career. He was patient and kind to the relatively inexperienced Tiffin (her third feature film) but came to loath Buchholz, whom he accused of trying to steal every scene. The poster is folded and in very good plus condition. Obvioiusly, this poster was used in a theater and there are some minor defects. These defects can be successfully addressed with linen-backing. Ask us about poster conservation services. Colors are vivid. The poster design is by Saul Bass. Billy Wilder is shown atop a ladder. Is he trying to figure out the next shot?
