Original 1997 Japanese Re-Release Poster (20x27) for the John Waters cult classic, PINK FLAMINGOS (1972) starring Divine, David Lochary, Mary Vivien Pearce, and Mink Stole. Although this film is considered by many to be one of the more disgusting and revolting pictures ever made, it does have panache. It has a freewheeling sense of no holds barred assault on bad taste that borders on innocent fun. Since the film's release in 1972, it has become a rite of passage for those testing their own boundaries of decency. The plot revolves around a throw down challenge to Divine's supremacy as the filthiest person alive. Beneath this seedy exterior, however, some have seen a brilliant and biting satire of our obsession for fame and the lengths some will go to achieve it.
