Original Columbia Pictures One-Sheet poster for the Richard Lester musical comedy, RING-A-DING RHYTHM! (1962) starring Helen Shapiro, Craig Douglas, and a host of popular jazz and rock musicians of the era. Shapiro and Douglas want to hold a Dixieland jazz festival in their British town to thwart the killjoy mayor's efforts to ban both jazz and rock musicians. DIrector Lester not only showcases Dixieland musicians of the time but also brings in a few American rockers like Chubby Checker and Dell Shannon. By the following year, The Beatles had swept all of these acts into near-obscurity. Richard Lester would go on to direct two of the Beatles' films, A HARD DAY'S NIGHT (1964) and HELP! (1965).
